Dear Diary,
I started writing Bad Boy while I was busking in Byron Bay — barefoot, sun-kissed, and completely in my element. I remember feeling this surge of confidence and power, like I was finally stepping into my full self — unapologetic, wild, and free. That’s when the idea for Bad Boy hit me.
You might be surprised, but this song isn’t about losing myself to someone dangerous. It’s about choosing someone who can meet me in my power — someone who doesn’t try to tame me, but fuels my fire. The kind of connection that feels a little Bonnie and Clyde — fearless, passionate, and unstoppable, like two souls riding side-by-side through life’s chaos, daring the world to tell them no.
For me, Bad Boy is about finding my inner baddie — the part of me that doesn’t play small or apologize for being too much. I wanted to create something that would inspire others to find their inner baddie too — that fearless, magnetic version of themselves that knows exactly who they are and isn’t afraid to shine. 🔥
When two strong energies collide, something beautiful happens — equal, electric, and alive. That’s the kind of chemistry that inspired this song.
When I wrote the line,
“A woman in her power can walk naked if she likes,”
I wasn’t talking about clothes. I meant stripping away the masks — being completely real, confident, and unfiltered in your truth.
It’s about not sugar-coating your words, not shrinking to make others comfortable, and embracing your sensuality, your strength, and your fire.
After I wrote it, I sent the track to the amazing producer Josh Beattie, and he brought it to life in the most incredible way. I’m so excited to finally share it, and I hope it awakens that bold, untamed part of everyone who hears it.
Releasing a song like this feels raw and freeing — it’s like sharing a piece of my soul, and if it inspires even one person to stand taller, speak louder, and own their power… then it’s all worth it. 💫
